Listen Up!

John 10v3-5 NLT
v3"The Gate keeper opens the gate for Him,and the sheep recognize His voice and they come to Him.He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out"
v4"After He gathers His own flock He walks ahead of them, and they follow Him because they know His voice."
v5"They won't follow a stranger ,they will RUN from him because they don't know his voice."

Oh how I fail to listen so many times. I have a busy mind and in my business when someone is talking I often drift for a few moments and then realize I was not really listening and may have just missed and important part of the talk. I could blame it on ADHD ,but, truth is I just do not listen well. It is something I am working hard to improve. When someone is talking to me or at a lecture (I am worst at a lecture) I  try to keep my eyes glued on the speaker. Ask questions and really fully engage. I must say this does help.

When listening to God I get a bit stumped. I truly wish many a time He would open the clouds and just say Tammy listen up this is for and I promise then I would hear every word! But, He does not work that way. He tells us in John 10 that If we have accepted Him as savior we are His sheep and He is the great Shepherd . We will know His voice and follow Him. It also tells us we will Run from the voice we do not know. So with that said I believe we clouded our minds with many voices that are around us every day. But, truth be told we don't really listen to Gods voice very much at all. How often are you in His word reading His words? How often to you fellowship with other believers and discuss Gods word?  How often do you go to church where you can hear from the under Shepard (Pastor) for what God has to say? Do you do any of these more than listening to other voices. If we don't spend time with our God it will be harder and harder to recognize His voice . We will not let Him lead we will let the other thoughts lead and we will stray and become lost. Those times we are lost and out of His fold are unpleasant times and His voice is so hard to find. These are the times we must give our selves a wake up knock in the head. You know like the old commercial when they say "I should have had a V8" Instead it is I should have been listening to God . Great thing though God has been there waiting and looking for you. So pick up His word,Pray, talk to a woman you know listens to her shepherds voice and tune back in. So stay glued to your speaker (God),ask questions and fully engage! Because I promise you when you know Him , His voice is much clearer. He won't yell from the clouds, but He will speak to your heart!

John 8v47 NLT
"Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God . But you don't listen because you don't belong to God"

Ride the Wave!

Psalms 32v8 "NLT"
v8"The Lord says 'I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.' "

Have you ever seen a surfer as they approach the on coming wave? They get so excited and can hardly wait to jump right in. How the really devoted surfers search for the storms to get to the ocean for waves of a lifetime! Do they have no fear? No, I believe there is an element of fear for them ,but, they push it aside for what might just be the ride of a life time.

My life feels somewhat like a surfers life, though I don't chase the storms or look for the waves they just come. God in His infinite wisdom and His knowing where this wave will take me and what it will teach me allows these waves to enter my calm ocean. Sometimes I allow these waves to push me to the bottom almost instantly. Sometimes I fight for what seems forever to stay on top of the wave that knows no end.Sometimes I feel as though the wave will completely drown me. Then there are the times that when the wave comes I remember I am not alone that God is there to help and protect and teach me to surf. These are the times I can stay on top of the wave and ,enjoy ,Ok at least endure the wave. The Lord wants me to have the ride of my life. At the end to learn a lesson I needed to learn and have my faith and trust in Him to grow. To have all those on the beach looking and seeing what a mighty God I serve! So maybe they can ride the wave as well.

So chicks ,see that wave coming ? Grab onto your surfboard (your faithful God) and ride on! What an adventure . What a mighty God!
Psalms 31v24 (NLT)
v24"So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord"

Why fear people?

Remember high school ? I was not one of the popular crowd I had my friends ,but, they were not in the' in group". Sometime (OK, a lot) we got picked on even tormented by the "popular ones" . Mum and Dad always told me to just ignore them they'll go away. It never worked. They could be a constant reminder of what you did not like about yourself or they could totally kill your self confidence and reduce you to wondering who you really were. And best of all in the hopes of being on the "in crowd" those around you would join in.
Just because I've grown to be a 40 year old woman I have to say I still fall prey to these people. And if they don't bother me they bother my family. The really sad part is many of them call themselves children of God. Those are the ones who hurt the most. Then you have the ones who follow their lead in hopes of acceptance from them not God Himself. Why do we let people so effect us to the point of forgetting who we are in Christ! God gave me some great verses:

  Isaiah 51 v 12-13 NLT
v12 "I,yes,I,am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear?
v13"Yet you have forgotten the Lord, your creator, the one who stretched out the sky like a canopy and laid the foundations of the earth. Will you remain in constant dread of human oppressors? Will you continue to fear the anger of your enemies? Where is there fury and anger know ? It is gone!

I will strive to no longer listen ,but, rest in my Lord. Sometimes these are just people from the past that your memory brings to mind and the hurt flows again. It is gone! Let our heavenly Father comfort you. He will take care of the rest! Satan would love to continue to use these others to destroy you and make you a heap of usefulness and defeat you ! But our God is so Big so Strong and so Mighty! Let Him handle them and comfort you ! Then you just be who our loving creator made you to be!
Be all God has made you to be you are the apple of His eye!

Things are not the way I Planned!

Jeremiah 29 v11-14 NLT

V11"For I know the plans I have for you,"says the Lord," they are plans for good  not disaster to give you a future and a hope."
V12"In those days when you pray I will listen."
V13 " If you look for me wholeheartedly you will find me."
V14 "I will be found by you ,says the Lord,"I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes .I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land."

Love these verses they have been my main stay for many months now. There are so many promise I can cling to and know It will be OK. Things may not be what I have foreseen or planned, but, God knew and He is doing everything for my good not to  harm, but give me a future and a hope! He promise to listen when I pray! If I look wholeheartedly I will find Him. Sometime I wallow more in self pity then look for Him at all let alone wholeheartedly. Then if all that is not enough our blessed Savior says He will restore us!

So though things may not be at all the way I planned I have to be open to what God has for me . Because my Lord has a plan for me much better than mine . He wants to prosper me and give me a hope and a future and He can see way ahead of me.

I once read "Goals (plans) are not ment to be a plump line to determine the shortest distance to success, but rather a compass to give a sense of direction."  I need to remember I have to fit myself into Gods vision, not fit God into my vision!
Till next time chicks

True Disciple?

Matthew 7v21-23 NLT

v21"Not everyone who calls out to me,Lord!Lord! will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in Heaven will enter."
v22 "On judgment day many will say to me,Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and preformed many miracles your name."
v23"But, I will reply' I never knew you.Get away from me,you who break God's laws.'

First may I  say that some will use these verses to claim you can lose your salvation. This is NOT the case. These verse talk about the difference of head knowledge of God and heart knowledge of God . You can not just go to church do works for God and say I know God ,I am going to heaven. You only know of God. You have to come to a point of accepting Jesus as your personal savior and really knowing God (heart knowledge)  having a personal relationship with God.

In verse 21 Jesus points out only those who do my will (the will of the father) will enter into heaven. Well the first most important will of the Father is for you to accept Jesus as your savior. (Romans 10 v 9&10, John 3 v 16) The rest flows out of that ,you will want to obey your Father in Heaven when He is Lord of your heart. You will slip up ,but, you will ask forgiveness and strive to do His will.

Then we have to look at John 13v34&35 -In verse 35 Jesus tells us that people will know we are his disciples because of our love for one another! In Colossians 312-17 We are also told how we are treat one another and love one another. Verse 17 reminds us we are Gods representatives  (His disciples) in all we do and say! If we have truly have heart knowledge of God  (accepted Jesus as Savior) we will strive to be His disciples in all things . If we have but ,head knowledge we will just keep doing works when we feel like it just enough to make us feel good and heaven bound.

What do you have head or heart knowledge? Do people know you are a disciple by your love for one another? Do you long for Gods direction in your life? If you do not know if you have ever accepted Jesus as your savior now is the time to get that right. You may feel you are doing so much for God but all in your own power, God will say He never knew you. Please know is the time to know for sure!  please post a comment so I can help or email me (aussiemum1220@hotmail.com).

If you already know your savior. Get to know Him better read His word, Study His word. Love one another. And do everything as a representative of our Savior and give thanks in everything!!!! :)

Trust in the Lord not yourself!

Reading from the NLT Isaiah 50 v 10&11
V10"Who among you fears the Lord and  obeys his servent? If you are walking in darkness, with out a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God."
V11 "But, watch out,you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from me:you will soon fall down in great torment."

I have to be truthful and say this was a hard few verses to swallow. We have been going though a dark time I must say God has given us enough light for each step for each day as we travel on. I will say though that at times (many times) I want to just give up on relying on our God and try to make my own "fire".  As God sends His servants to give us wisdom and help I don't always want to "take it on board" I am many times tired of waiting. God has seen fit at this time to have us rest and wait on Him. If  I will let Him and if I rely on Him, He will see me though. This bit of waiting on God is nothing compared to "falling into great torment"

May you rely on your God even when the path is dark and you can not see the end of the tunnel! Don't rely on yourself, but,on your Savior and the servants He sends along the way!   These times are for our benefit to become more Christ like.
I Thank my God for reminding me of this today !

Trust and obey chicks its the only way!

"I beg two favors ... "

Prov 30 vs 7-9  (NLT)
7"O God, I beg two favors from you;let me have them before I die"

8"First, help me to never tell a  lie. Second ,give me neither poverty or riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs."
9"For if I grow rich,I may deny you and say,"who is the Lord?" And if I am to poor  I may steal and thus insult your Holy name"

I just love Agur in Proverbs he begs from God first not to lie ! Then to have just enough . Have you ever said "Oh if I only had" You may get that and then it is well "If I only had" . Sometimes it seems we never have enough. We never have enough to give to help others. We never have enough to give God His tithe. We never have enough to be happy. And on and on we can go.
I Timothy 6 v 8-10 tells us if we have food and clothes we should be content "satisfied, Happy" Then it tells us in Verse 10 that the love of money is the root of all evil. WOW! Are you begging God to have just what you need or do you need more?

How about we at least try begging God ourselves to not lie. Be a truthful person a person people can look at and never doubt our words.

Then Beg God for just enough not to much or to little . Ask Him to help you know what a need is and what a want is! And rather than gathering your treasures here on Earth why not start storing some up in Heaven!

One of my Favorite movies is Hello Dolly. She told Horace (a man she loved yet was a hoarder of money ) that you have to spread your money around like manure encouraging young things to grow!
Lets spread our money, our time and our resources around encouraging Gods Kingdom to grow!

Come Chicks lets make a difference and lets start Begging,
